Diane Lee, LMT (Licensed Massage Therapist) has completed over 10,000 massages since graduating from Potomac Massage Training Institute in 2006. After 12 years of experience at the Four Seasons Hotel Spa in Washington DC, she offers the same five-star treatment at affordable rates in her Silver Spring, MD studio. Diane was inspired to become a massage therapist by her father, who suffered permanent paralysis following a severe stroke caused by a brain aneurysm. After quitting her job to be his caregiver, she discovered massage as a way to help him reconnect with his body. Diane believes massage can provide long term relief by increasing awareness and identifying the underlying causes of discomfort. She not only focuses on specific areas of tension but also strives to re-balance the whole: mind, body and spirit. She customizes her sessions with Eastern and Western modalities to address each client’s unique needs.

“Trying to maintain optimal health is not easy, but if you spend any time with Diane you’ll soon experience a balance that you will appreciate beyond words. Each session with her is specifically and intuitively tailored to just what you need. She is holistic in her approach to bodywork, not only incorporating a high level of skills, but also a deep connection to Eastern influences. A very well-rounded approach. She is meant to do this work.” -Kathy, Washington, DC
“Diane gives the most amazing HOT STONE Massage I have experienced. It’s as if she speaks to your body through her stones. Beyond the typical alleviating of aches and pains from stress and growing old, she is able to open a space in time and place that is trance-like, a plateau of relaxation that releases the mind and body.” -Peggy, Potomac, MD
“Diane is a fantastic therapist. She is the only one that gets it just right for my wife, not too hard and not too soft, just right. For me, she also does a fantastic job and I like very deep tissue. Very relaxing and comfortable massage room. I give her an A+” -Robert, Kensington, MD
“I had never tried a hot stone massage. After my first session at Phoenix Rising, there was no turning back. Every session is a positive experience for me. Diane is truly gifted. The most important part, the massages themselves, are wonderful, with each and every massage she is able to tailor her style to my preference, adjusting pressure and technique to suit my need. She is very much in tune with my body as she focuses on my concern areas. I have had bad back problems with a lot of shoulder and neck pain and the 90-min hot stone sessions really made a big difference in my life.” -Penny, Silver Spring, MD
“I now consider my monthly massage therapy an integral part of maintaining my well-being. Thanks to you, Diane, with the deep tissue body work you perform and the ‘between massage’ exercises and stretches you’ve shown me, I no longer get knots in my shoulders and back.” -Mary Jane, Washington DC
“Diane should come with a warning label. I received my first hot stone massage from her as a birthday gift. It was such a delightful, relaxing experience. So anytime I give a friend a referral to Diane, I do so with the caveat that no other massage will ever seem as good and they should be prepared to become as addicted to her touch as I am.” -Melanye, Hyattsville, MD
“Diane did a great job when I was having a very sharp pain on my shoulder blade. After the first session the pain was almost gone. Not only that, she also gave me good advice about my posture in order to avoid future problems. When I went to the second session the following week, my pain had almost disappeared.” -Rosana, Takoma Park, MD
“My prior experience with massage spans at least 20 years. I feel privileged that I met Diane when she had just completed training. And I appreciate the fact that she has since learned and applied new techniques and practices. I highly recommend Diane and feel that anyone would be very happy with a massage by Diane.” -Nancy, Washington DC
